Web Developer Contractor

Qualifications

We are looking for experienced web developers interested in building next generation websites and web applications. The ideal candidate will:
  • Be passionate about the Internet and where this technology can take us
  • Have 3-5+ years of professional experience with one or more of the following: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), Ruby on Rails, ASP.NET, J2EE or related technologies
  • Have 3-5+ years of professional experience with software release cycles, source control systems, and QA processes
  • Have professional experience in one or more of the following: web standards, cross-browser development, performance measurement & optimization, OOD/OOP, MVC
  • Have a background in computer science principles and practices
  • Be a dependable, communicative self-starter who is able to follow direction remotely

Responsibilities

You will work remotely with a project manager and, in some cases, a team of other developers on client projects. This will include:
  • Providing time estimates on tasks
  • Communicating with project manager and team on issues, lack of spec clarity, etc.
  • Using SVN for source code versioning control
  • Fixing and addressing bugs as necessary
  • Delivering code in a timely manner

Compensation

This is a 1099 contract role. Rates vary and may be hourly or fixed, depending upon the contract with the client. Payments are issued every two weeks and are subject to penalties for late or incomplete delivery.
